Summary[]

In the magical and mystical world Gemina, four warriors from very different backgrounds had been chosen by an ancient mystical artifact- the Dragon Disk- to become "the Mysticons" who had used their unique magical/psionic abilities and weaponry to protect the world and its people- from ordinary humans, to dwarfs, to elves, to fairies, to ogres, gnomes, to centaurs- from an ancient evil known as the Spectral Hand. One millennia ago, the original four Mysticons had perished defeating Necrafa- the undead lich queen of the Hand- which rendered the mighty Dragon Disk dormant until the second generation of Mysticons would be chosen.

In the present, master orphaned thieves, by the names of Piper and Zarya, end up being forced to procure the Dragon Disk from the royal treasury at the palace, in return for their foz friend Choko, by a cloaked shadow mage. Once inside the palace, the two run into Princess Arkayna Goodfey and her dwarf friend Emerald Goldenbraid. The four grapple for the Dragon Disk, which activates upon their touch and transforms them into the new Mysticons, with Princess Arkayna as their leader. With their newly acquired magical weaponry, the new quartet of superheroines easily beat the undead army of the Spectral Hand, forcing their undead General Dreadbane to retreat. They reluctantly make a compromise to make it work for the safety of the whole realm, while Princess Arkayna' selfish and self-centered stepbrother becomes king, due their parents' petrified state.

Joined by a middle-level astromancer named Malavaron, the new Mysticons travel to Astromancer Island to seek the aid of the mighty and powerful astromancers themselves to learn how to further develop their various magical abilities to eradicate what remains of the Spectral Hand, and succeed where their predecessors have failed. However, they are soon double-crossed by their own salon, Tazma Grimm, Malavaron's ambitious elder sister, but manage to claim the very first fragment of the Codex, which somewhat enhances Princess Akyana's Mysticon Dragon Mage power. While on quests to attain the last three fragments, the Mysticons end up encountering sky pirates- whom Zarya is closely acquainted with- and fight the Spectral Hand in Emerald's hometown. Other lesser threats other than Tazma is a biker troll named Kymraw and her orcs. Due to a disagreement, the Codex fragment that belongs to Zarya Moonwolf as Mysticon Ranger falls into the hands of Dreadbane, who intends to use its mighty ancient magics to release Queen Necrafa herself from her thousand-year imprisonment at the hands of Imani Firewing the very first Mysticon Dragon Mage.

Trivia[]

  • It is unknown whether Gemina is an actual planet or a parallel world one must travel via a portal.
  • The way that teenage girls (two humans, an elf and a dwarf) are chosen to be the second generation of legendary heroines is just like when five teenage girls on Earth being chosen to become the second generation of five Guardians of the Veil, in W.I.T.C.H. Also, Will Vandom happens to be the brave redheaded leader of the Guardians, just as Princess Arkayna is the redheaded leader of the Mysticons.
